BERKELEY, Calif. - UC Davis concluded play, Saturday, at the Cal Nike Invitational with a doubles quarterfinal match in the morning. The duo of Randi Schuler and Desiree Stone was defeated by Arizona State's Laila Abdala and Ali Van Horne.

Schuler and Stone had advanced to the quarterfinals after an 8-4 win Friday against Sacramento State's Luba Schifris and Milaca Zivanovic. The victory set up Saturday's quarterfinal showdown with Abdala and Van Horne. The Sun Devil tandem raced out to a 4-0 lead before Schuler and Stone came back to get as close as 7-6 before dropping the final game.

Schuler and Stone were the only Aggies representing UC Davis at the 14-school tournament. The Aggies are next in action Oct. 10 when the full roster begins play at the Saint Mary's Invitational.
