PARIS, France - UC Davis defeated Vanves, 93-77, in the first of four exhibition games the Aggies will play on their current European Tour. Joe Harden led UC Davis with 26 points while Dominic Calegari added 16. Mark Payne and Vince Oliver each finished with 12 points.
Payne posted a double-double as he hauled in 11 rebounds. Oliver dished out a team-high six assists.
The game featured four quarters, and the Aggies outscored Vanves in each quarter. UC Davis led 49-46 at the half and 68-62 after three quarters before finishing strong with a 25-15 advantage in the fourth quarter.
UC Davis connected eight times from beyond the arc. Redshirt freshman Adam Malik and Kyle Brucculeri each made two three-pointers. Oliver, Harden, Calegari and Ryan Silva each made one trey. Harden's effort included going 13-for-15 from the free throw line.
Vanves is a national team located in Paris. UC Davis is next in action Sunday evening when it faces West Lyon in Lyon, France. The team resumes sightseeing Saturday in Paris before heading to Lyon on Sunday.Friday represented the second full day for UC Davis in Paris.
