FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Jee Park finished second after shooting a 2-under par 70 on Tuesday - the best round of the day and the second-best of the tournament -while freshman Chelsea Stelzmiller tied for sixth as the UC Davis women's golf team finished second at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational.

The tournament was played at the 6,072-yard course at Copper River Country Club.

The Aggies, who had three players among the top 13 places, charged from its tie for fourth place after Monday's opening round to shoot a 4-over 292 in the last round and nearly catch winner Tulsa. UC Davis finished at 17-over 593, just three shots behind Tulsa which needed nearly every bit of its 291 on Tuesday to hold off the Aggies.

Kimberly Johnson had a 75 in the last round and tied for 13th at 5-over for UC Davis, junior Bryana Gregory also shot a 75 and tied for 30th at 8-over and Eryn Williams posted a 77 and tied for 44th at 12-over par.

Park, who was sixth at the Lady Braveheart Classic at UC Riverside earlier this month, had her career-best finish with her tie for second. Her round of 70 featured five birdies - including three in a row on the front nine - and was the low score of the day among the 86 golfers.

Park's previous-best finish was a tie for third at the San Jose State Spartan Invitational two seasons ago.

Stelzmiller continues to enjoy an outstanding freshman campaign for the Aggies, posting her third top-10 finish in a row. She made the turn at even-par before rattling off three birdies over the first four holes on the back nine, later finishing with a 72.

Johnson made the turn at two shots over par but gave just one shot away on the back, closing her day with five consecutive pars. Gregory's round benefitted from three birdies while Williams posted pars on 15 of her final 18 holes.

Fresno State's Taylor Siebert had a 71 on Tuesday to post a one-shot win at even-par over Corie Hou of Hawaii, Emily Powers of Kansas and Park. Kansas took third in the team standings, three shots behind UC Davis, while San Francisco was fourth at 597 and UC Irvine was fifth at 603.

The Aggies will return to action at the UNLV Spirng Invitational on Mar. 10 in Las Vegas, Nev.
