Game Notes
DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team plays just its second home game of the season, Saturday, when it hosts Cal State Bakersfield. The Aggies and Roadrunners will tip at 7 p.m. at The Pavilion, and the game can be heard on KFSG 1690-AM as well as at www.ucdavisaggies.com. UC Davis enters the contest 2-6 while CSUB brings in a 3-4 record.
Through eight games, sophomore Joe Harden leads the Aggies with 14.6 points per game as well as a Big West Conference-leading 8.9 rebounds per game. Harden is one of the three Aggies averaging in double-figures. Junior Dominic Calegari is scoring 10.8 ppg., and senior Vince Oliver is posting 10.5 ppg.
Cal State Bakersfield is coming off a 67-63 loss in overtime Wednesday at Pacific. Junior Trent Blakley leads the team with 14.3 ppg, and junior Santwon Latunde is averaging 10.3 points and a team-leading 7.7 rebounds. CSUB started off the season with losses at Wyoming and at Air Force. The Roadrunners then won their next three games against Cal State Northridge, Sacramento State and at Pepperdine. Two days before taking on Pacific, CSUB lost to San Diego at home. Saturday's game marks the third for CSUB against a Big West Conference team.
Cal State Bakersfield leads the all-time series, 29-10. The teams last met on Jan. 2, 2008, when the Aggies posted a 62-59 victory on the road.
UC Davis has played all but one of its eight games on the road with Wednesday's game at Sacramento State concluding that stretch. The Aggies' lone home game to date was on Nov. 23 against Portland.
