Final Stats

CLINTON, S.C. - UC Davis was defeated by Presbyterian, 82-69, Wednesday night in a non-conference men's basketball game at the Templeton Center. Vince Oliver led the Aggies with 19 points, but Presbyterian's Al'Lonzo Coleman scored a game-high 29 to lead the Blue Hose. UC Davis dropped to 4-7 overall after completing a 1-1 road trip. Mark Payne added 16 points for the Aggies while Joe Harden scored 14 to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.

Each team held four-point leads in the opening 10 minutes, and Presbyterian (5-5) led 17-13 with 10:13 remaining in the half. UC Davis then went on a 9-0 run in a two-minute span. It started with an Oliver layup and continued with a Payne layup. After a three-pointer by Dominic Calegari, Payne capped off the run with a transition dunk to give the Aggies a 22-17 lead. UC Davis would build its largest advantage with 2:52 left in the half when it led 29-21.

The Blue Hose closed the half on a 10-0 run to lead 31-29 at the break and extended the run to 12-0 in the opening moments of the second half. An Oliver layup at the 16:33 mark gave UC Davis what turned out to be its last lead of the night at 37-36. Presbyterian put together a 16-4 run to go up 52-41 with 11:55 left.

The Aggies would get as close as four points after a Ryan Silva three-pointer made it 62-58 with just over five minutes remaining. That set up a deciding run by the Blue Hose, who outscored the Aggies 15-3 and led 77-61 with 1:19 to play.

Presbyterian shot 53 percent compared to the Aggies' 50 percent. The Blue Hose shot 21-for-25 from the line while UC Davis finished 14-for-25. The Aggies held a 32-28 edge in rebounding but committed 16 turnovers against 11 for Presbyterian.
