DAVIS, Calif. - This year's men's basketball Leadership Council has been finalized and the contingent of Aggies will be made up of two seniors and two sophomores. The student-athletes who will serve in the leadership role are Kyle Brucculeri, Joe Harden, Vince Oliver and Mark Payne.
The UC Davis Leadership Council oversees a variety of initiatives including team goals, team guidelines, organizing a community outreach program as well as facilitating an academic support system.
Oliver and Brucculeri have combined for 166 games played in their first three years with the Aggies. Oliver is already a 1,000-point scorer for UC Davis while Brucculeri was a Big West Conference Academic All-Conference selection a year ago. Payne won the Big West and Mid-Major Freshman of the Year awards last year while Harden, a transfer from Notre Dame, is beginning his first season with the Aggies after redshirting in 2007-08.
UC Davis is in the midst of the exhibition portion of its schedule. The Aggies defeated Bethany, 89-69, Tuesday night and host Notre Dame de Namur Friday night at 7 p.m. at The Pavilion.
