DAVIS, Calif. - For the first time in its Division I era, the UC Davis men's basketball team has received votes in The CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. The Aggies picked up 18 points in the preseason poll released earlier this week. UC Davis is one of five Big West Conference schools to appear in the poll.
Other Big West schools include Cal State Northridge at No. 25 with 118 points. Pacific (36), Cal State Fullerton (24) and UC Santa Barbara (23) were also among the others receiving votes. Gonzaga holds the top spot with 754 points, followed by Davidson and Saint Mary's.
UC Davis is coming off Tuesday's 89-69 exhibition victory over Bethany at The Pavilion. The Aggies play their final exhibition Friday night when they host Notre Dame de Namur at 7 p.m. at The Pavilion.
