DAVIS, Calif. -- Aggie fans will be able to cheer on the Sacramento River Cats and help benefit Aggie Athletics at the same time when the Triple-A baseball team faces the Albuquerque Isotopes on UC Davis Night at Raley Field on Wednesday, May 30.
The River Cats - an affiliate of the Oakland Athletics - have enjoyed tremendous success since coming to Sacramento in 2000 while entertaining fans with unique and enthusiastic promotions. The team captured Pacific Coast League South Division titles in four of their first five years in Sacramento while also claiming Pacific Coast League Championships in both 2003 and 2004. Along the way, the River Cats have annually been among the attendance leaders in all of Minor League Baseball.
The evening promises to be an exciting one for all fans with organizers hoping to attract as many as 5,000 UC Davis students, faculty, staff and alumni through the special promotion which will direct a portion of the proceeds toward Aggie Athletics.
