Nov. 16, 2007

Final Stats

FULLERTON, Calif. - Junior Ahmad Hatifie scored a goal with under two minutes remaining in the game to send the game into overtime and give UC Davis a 1-1 tie with Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Men's soccer game at Titan Soccer Stadium Friday night.

The tie improves the Aggies' unbeaten streak to five games and moves them into sole possession of second place in the conference with a mark of 6-3-2. The tie also improves the Aggies' overall record to 11-4-3 and gives them a win or draw over every team in the Big West. The Titans are now 7-9-3 overall and 2-6-3 in conference play.

The Titans, playing in their final home game of the year, claimed the lead in the 23rd minute of the contest as Michael Farfan took a pass from his twin brother Gabriel and put it past Aggie goalkeeper Ryan McCowan from inside the box to gain his third score of the season.

Hatifie eared his second goal of the season in the 88th minute off an assist from senior Paul Cain. Cain's throw in went off the hands of Titan goalkeeper Brent Douglas and Hatifie converted a shot from directly in front of the net.

Fullerton played the final nine minutes of the contest a man down after Anthony Terrazas was assessed a second yellow card. A total of 12 cards were issued in the match.

The Aggies doubled the Titans' shot total, 16-8, and had two more shots on goal, 5-3. UC Davis also took three more corner kicks, 9-6.

The Aggies completes their regular season Sunday at UC Irvine at 1 p.m. A win would clinch a second-place conference finish for UC Davis.
