LAS CRUCES, N.M. - UC Davis junior Bryana Gregory fired a 2-under-par 70 to take sole possession of second place in first-round action at the Price's Give `Em Five Invitational at the New Mexico State Golf Course Monday morning. She led UC Davis to a team total of 300 strokes, tying the Aggies with Oklahoma for a share of second place.
Missouri, led by tournament leader Michelle Morgan's 3-under-par 69, leads the team leaderboard with 298 strokes. Kansas, Michigan and Idaho each totalled 302 to share fourth place in the 15-team tournament.
Besides Gregory, two other Aggies rank among the top 20 individuals. Freshman Chelsea Stezmiller was UC Davis' second overall scorer for the day, turning in a 74 for a share of 74th place. She was also one of just two players (along with Jayhawk Sydney Wilson) to record an eagle in Monday's action. Junior Sydney Roughton carded a 75 to tie for 16th place on the leaderboard.
Junior Eryn Williams and freshman Alice Kim rounded out the UC Davis lineup, posting respective scores of 81 and 82 during the first round.
The Price's Give `Em Five Invitational continues through Wednesday with one 18-hole round being played per day. Tuesday's play commences with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MDT.
