DAVIS, Calif. -- Wine-tasting, dining and live and silent auctions will once again be highlights as UC Davis prepares to host the benefit 10th Annual Aggie Auction, presented by UC Davis Health System, this Saturday at The Pavilion on the UC Davis campus.

Event organizers are hoping to raise more than a half-million dollars during the evening through the auction and sale of trips, wine, golf outings, dinners, memorabilia and fine art. Proceeds will benefit the UC Davis student-athlete grants-in-aid fund as well as facility improvements. More than 2,000 items have been secured for the evening, which begins with a silent auction at 4:30 p.m. and is followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the live auction at 8.

A few of the unique auction items include a LASIK eye surgery, a chance to be a fighter pilot for a day, exquisite jewelry and a New York Broadway package with airfare and hotel accommodations. Additionally, tickets will be sold for five different raffles with prizes including five nights at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Kapalua (Maui) with roundtrip airfare, as well as stays at Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Half Moon Bay and San Francisco.
