DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis Athletics Marketing and Promotions staff was recognized with 13 awards by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) at its recent conference in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Awards were presented in 18 categories with schools competing against institutions of similar size and conference affiliation. UC Davis, which was in Group 3, earned seven first-place honors, a quartet of second-place awards, and a pair for third-place. More than 700 entries were judged by corporate marketing personnel.
UC Davis earned top honors for online and radio promotions, single-day promotions for women's basketball and Olympic sports, for new revenue generation, activation program with a sponsor, and for sponsor follow-up reports.
The judges for the competition were Chris Caldwell (Gatorade), John Egan (Coca-Cola), Paula Grooms (IMG), Matt Pensinger (General Motora) and Bruce Skinner (Former Executive Director, Fiesta Bowl).
The NACMA Awards are in their third year and are givine for outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions.

1st-place - Best Radio Promotion; Best Online Promotions; Best Single-Day Attendance Promotion - Women's Basketball; Best Single-Day Attendance Promotion - Olympic Sports; Best Activation with a Sponsor; Best Sponsor Follow-up Report; Best New Revenue Generating Idea.
2nd-place - Best Single-Day Attendance Promotion - Football; Best Promotional T-Shirt; Best Ticket Sales Piece; Best Targeted Group Promotion.
3rd-place - Best Single-Day Attendance Promotion - Men's Basketball; Best Radio Commercial.
