MORAGA, Calif. - Aggie freshman Robin Guier lost to second-seeded Bojan Bobusic of California, 6-2, 6-0, in Sunday's Blue semifinal, having advanced the farthest of any UC Davis player at the Saint Mary's Invitational women's collegiate tennis tournament.

Jenna Kappel and Emma Shapiro picked up Sunday wins in their respective singles action. Kappel beat teammate Yuka Otaka in split sets during the Red consolation semifinals, then lost to Santa Clara's Stephanie Hermann in the consolation final. Kappel and Otaka battled to a 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 in the opener, then Kappel lost 7-6, 6-2 to Hermann in her later match.

Shapiro easily defeated San Jose State's Roshie Larijani, 6-1, 6-1 to move into the White consolation final. Shapiro fell to the Spartans' Silvana Dukic, 6-1, 6-4, in the final.

Kappel and senior Nancy Mok held the Aggies' only doubles action for the day, losing their 8-5 Red consolation semifinal to Kate Harden and Kristin Hummer of Saint Mary's.

UC Davis returns to action for the ITA Regionals at Stanford from October 21-24.
