EAGLE, Idaho -- Paced by an even-par 71 from freshman Danielle Cvitanov, UC Davis carded a team score of 304 on Tuesday to claim first place at the Boise State Bronco Invitational in just the Aggies' second tournament ever.

UC Davis overcame a three-stroke deficit after the tournament's first 36 holes on Monday to win by three strokes over Idaho, which had entered the day with the lead. Cvitanov finished second in the individual standings, just missing medalist honors by a stroke. Megan Stoddart of Santa Clara had a 54-hole total of 218 while Cvitanov, who had rounds of 72, 76 and 71 over the 6,225-yard course, finished at 219.

The Aggies were in third heading into Tuesday's final round but moved passed Idaho, which shot 310 on Tuesday, and also Boise State, which was in second after the first two rounds but finished with a 317 and placed fourth. Eastern Washington had the day's best round with a 302 and ended in third. Fourteen teams participated in the two-day tournament.

Besides Cvitanov, the Aggies also got a strong performance from Bryana Gregory, who finished with a 4-over 75 on Tuesday and moved up a spot from Monday to finish eighth at 226. Jee Park finished in a tie for 21st after her 81, Eryn Williams tied for 42nd after a 77 on Tuesday and Kelsey Fischer tied for 53rd.

UC Davis is coached by Kathy DeYoung, who led the Aggie softball team to nearly 800 wins and the 2003 NCAA Division II Championship before retiring from that program to help start women's golf. UC Davis has a roster made up of all true freshman.

The Aggies return to action at New Mexico State next Monday and Tuesday.
