WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC Davis pitcher Trevor Thornton was named the Rawlings California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 24-30, it was announced recently by the CCAA.
Thornton, a senior from Fairfield, went 2-0 on the mount for the Aggies during the week against Western Oregon and Grand Canyon. He posted a 1.06 earned run average over 17 innings.
He limited Western Oregon to one run on six hits and a walk over 8.0 innings en route to a 10-1 victory on March 24. Thornton then went the distance against CCAA-foe Grand Canyon, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk while striking out nine over 9.0 innings on his way to a 7-1 win.
For the week, Thronton allowed two runs on 11 hits and 2 walks and struck out 10.
