WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UC Davis first baseman David Butterworth has been named the Rawlings California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 14-20, it was announced today by the conference.

Butterworth, a sophomore from Davis, led the Aggies to a four-game sweep at UC San Diego last week. After belting a two-run homer in a 12-6 loss at Nevada, Butterworth tallied seven hits in 15 at-bats, scored three runs and drove in six against UCSD. He went 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead the Ags to a 9-4 win on Saturday.

For the week, Butterworth hit .400 (8-for-20) with four extra-base hits, four runs and eight RBIs.
