ABOUT UC DAVIS HEALTH STADIUM
UC Davis Health Stadium opened in 2007 as one of the three major facilities funded by the Facilities and Campus Enhancement, for F.A.C.E., Initiative of 1999.
The UC Davis women's lacrosse team was the first to compete on its Shaw Sports (formerly Sportexe) turf, defeating Saint Mary's on April 1, 2007. The football team began competing at UC Davis Health Stadium that fall, after more than a half century at Toomey Field.
The UC Davis field hockey team also played at UC Davis Health Stadium before moving to the Aggie Field Hockey Facility in 2014.
Since it's opening, the stadium has seen a number of big events being hosted on it's turf, with the 2007 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Lacrosse Tournament being the first of many championship events at UC Davis Health Stadium. 12 years later, the MPSF would host their lacrosse championships on the field once again, with the Aggies playing San Diego State for MPSF supremacy on April 28, 2019.
Lacrosse has also had the opportunity to host many big name programs at UC Davis Health Stadium since it's opening in 2007, including Stanford, Cal, Oregon, and, for the first time in 2025, Notre Dame and the No. 7 ranked Florida.
The football team has also hosted two FCS playoff games at the stadium, going 2-0 in those games. The team defeated Northern Iowa 23-16 on December 1, 2018, in front of a crowd of 8,000+. In 2024, following a historic 10-win regular season, the then No. 5 ranked Aggies hosted and defeated the No. 12 ranked Illinois State Redbirds 42-10 to advance to the FCS Quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
Four hours prior to each Aggie home game, fans also have the opportunity to participate in one of four tailgates in Lot 53, Lot 56, Bob Biggs Field, and the premium tailgate on Champions Corridor, on the south end of La Rue Field. Each of these locations are conveniently located just minutes away from the stadium.
Though there are no direct bus lines to the stadium, campus Unitrans can service people to and from campus, the walk from each bus line to the stadium is approximately ten minutes. Fans looking to buy a parking pass can purchase one here, and Unitran information can be found here.
UC Davis Health Stadium was designed by industry leader Ellerbe Beckett, and built by local firm Brown Construction. It features fixed seating on each of the east and west sides, with grass berm seating – now known as the UC Davis Children's Hospital Family Zone – adjacent to each end zones.
Beneath the press box resides the Bruce Edwards Club Room, a popular venue for receptions, meetings and other gatherings.
