DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis assistant coach Gina Carbonatto has been named an assistant coach for the Great Britain Women's Under-22 team that will compete at the European Under-22 Women's Championships later this summer.

Carbonatto, in her second season as an assistant coach with the Aggies, and the newly created under-22 squad opens play in Trnava, Slovakia, from July 23-28, joining 15 other countries in a record-breaking field under the direction of head coach Jo Malisani.

The team was formed to help players bridge the gap between the junior and senior women's national teams, which will compete at the U-19 European Championships and the WBSC World Championships, respectively.

Great Britain has been placed in group A for the tournament along with the host nation, Greece, Turkey, and Ireland. More information is available at http://www.europeansoftball.org/competitions/detail/159.
