DAVIS, Calif. – Three UC Davis student-athletes were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. The Aggies represented one-third of the Big Sky Conference's total number of selections, and comprised three of the seven All-District 8 First Team honorees.

Due to the geographic footprint of the conference, member schools are represented by two districts. District 8, which covers the entire West Coast, includes UC Davis.

This year's selections include junior tight end Wesley Preece, who holds 3.76 GPA in managerial economics, junior defensive back Tiger Garcia, a two-time honoree with a 3.94 GPA as a managerial economics major, and senior defensive back Ryan Parenteau, who majors in aerospace science and engineering with a 3.94 GPA.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December
