DAVIS, Calif. -- To conclude a fall season that comprised trips to Colorado, Illinois and Wisconsin, UC Davis men's golf finally competes in the Pacific time zone, wrapping up its fall slate at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by California at the Meadow Club this Monday and Tuesday.
What: Alister MacKenzie Invitational
When: Oct. 8-9, 2018
Where: Meadow Club (Par 71, 6,734 yards)

Tournament Field: California (host), Arizona State, Augusta, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, San Jose State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, UC Davis.
This marks a return trip to the Meadow Club for the Aggies, although not for any of the current players. The program's last trip was in 2015, when UC Davis finished 14 in the usual tough field the tourney draws. Then senior Patrick Soli was masterful with scores of 67, 68 and 69 en route to a 10th-place score of 9-under 204.
Sophomore Thomas Hutchison has led the Aggies in all three tournaments thus far in 2018-19, turning in finishes of T9th at the Falcon Invite, an individual title at the Windon Memorial, then a T5th at the Marquette Intercollegiate earlier this week. Six of his nine rounds have been at par or better en route to a 70.22 stroke average. For reference, the three best seasons by Aggies during the era of Golfstat (1996 to present) are Matt Hansen (70.57 in 2013-14), Louie Bishop (70.69 in 2006-07) and Scott Gordon (71.54 in 2003-04). Hutchison currently ranks 65th nationally according to Golfweek's individual Sagarin ratings.

Senior Tanner Hughes cracked the lineup for the first time for the Marquette Intercollegiate, closing out his tourney with a 67 for a tie for fifth along with Hutchison. The managerial economics major from Livermore, California, was an honorable mention All-Big West Conference honoree last year, but his showing at Erin Hills marks his first top-10 finish as a collegian.
Next week's tournament marks the 14th installment of the Alister MacKenzie Invite at the Meadow Club, a par-71, 6,734-yard course nestled in the shadow of Mt. Tamalpais in Fairfax, California.
