March 12, 2015 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Following a rough start to the competition, UC Davis divers Audrey DeNeffe and Lucy Lafranchise wrapped up the 2015 Zone E Diving Championships with strong finishes on the platform to conclude their stay at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Lafranchise led the pair by finishing 31st with a score of 163.15, two spots ahead of her teammate, who ended up 33rd with a score of 147.30 on the event's final day. Lafranchise, making her third consecutive appearance at the Zone Championships, also paced the tandem in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions, finishing 43rd (230.55) and 54th (198.20), respectively.
DeNeffe, making her first appearance at the Zone Championships following a record-setting season for the Aggies, opened her stay in Colorado Springs finishing 55th on the 3-meter (177.50) and following that up with a 49th-place finish on the 1-meter (219.55). The Menlo Park, Calif., native set school records on both the 1-meter (278.55) and 3-meter (296.85) boards this past season, while already holding the school record on the platform (210.65).
